Corporate Accounting Manager

Position Summary
Lead role in corporate consolidation and accounting close process, including direct management of senior and staff accountants. Work closely with finance leaders in a fast-growing public company to execute on financial operational initiatives, monthly financial reporting and internal control compliance. Responsible for monthly account reconciliation oversight and preparation of internal financial statements.
Responsibilities
Maintain the timeliness and performance of the monthly financial close process up to final consolidation and related reporting requirements.
Mentor and develop GL staff and senior accountants supporting the corporate close process to meet organizational and professional goals.
Perform review of journal entries and account reconciliations in relation to general ledger accounting performed by staff and senior accountant roles.
Oversee accounting associated with areas such as accrued liabilities, fixed assets, revenue, judgmental reserves, and non-routine transactions.
Maintain quality and timeliness of internal control requirements associated with consolidation and general ledger reporting within team.
Support of accounting operations associated with new business initiatives.
Coordinate preparation of the financial statements as well as the supporting notes for SEC reporting.
Work in coordination with VP, Corporate Controller, Director, Accounting and External Reporting and FP&A in driving and reporting efforts around key performance indicators.
Participate and execute on monthly budget to actual and trend analysis.
Support various ongoing projects throughout the year, including system changes and enhancements, requiring cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelors of Science in Accounting, concentration in Finance or Accounting, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA a plus.
Minimum of six years related experience, including one year managerial experience.
Prior experience working in a publically traded or large private company.
Prior experience working with consolidations, foreign currency a plus.
Skills/Competencies:
Ability to analyze existing financial/operational processes for suggested improvements.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Team leader as well as a team player, with strong process and personnel management skills.
Must have the ability and drive to take on projects with extensive volume.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, within multiple levels of organization.
Strong knowledge of Excel.
Ability to organize and judge priorities.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
