Empire Telecom, a subsidiary of QualTek USA, is a turnkey provider in the Wireless Telecom Industry. We provide real estate, engineering, construction, project management and maintenance services to major wireless carriers. We are currently seeking Tower Technicians for our Billerica, MA office.

Responsible for the erection, construction and maintenance of wireless towers and co-location system placement. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all safety and quality guidelines and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

oPerform installation, inspection and maintenance services for wireless radio and antenna systems on towers, rooftops and other elevated structures
oMount antennas (panels and microwave dishes), run coaxial cable, hybrid cable, apply connectors, sweep lines, and PIM Test Coax lines
oEnsure highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld
oInstallation of up-top equipment including masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting, true up, shooting proper azimuth within tolerances, reading maps and a compass, torque to spec, labeling, picture-taking, documentation, plumb and tilt readings with smart level, etc.
oWork on tower top, looking after all aspects of work while at the tower top, ensuring that a quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc.
oAssembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers
oAntenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15 foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas
oTransmission line and installation of foam or air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical wave-guides
oResponsible for tool inventory and upkeep daily on job site.
oOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

oMinimum of 2 years experience; wireless carrier build experience required
oKnowledge of knots and tower rigging necessary
oAbility to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers and aerial platform equipment
oDC/AC electrical skills
oAbility to read and understand a customer detail plan
oFiber/Sweep testing
oAbility to troubleshoot and correct mechanical or electrical connections
oIndustrial first aid and rescue training
oWorking knowledge of Fall Protection practice and procedures and tower life saving techniques
oCommunicate in person, by phone and radio with supervisor, foreman and co-workers
oMust work in a team environment participating in tailboards throughout the day
oAbility to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
oAbility to lead crews as necessary
oWork be able to work with a team, and independently as required
oMust be able to climb and perform work at various heights, up to 400 feet, for long periods of time
oMust be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
oMust be able to pull his/her own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time
oMust be willing to travel out of market/state, for up to several months at a time
oMust be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
oMay be required to work long and unpredictable hours
oPosition requires working outdoors in all types of weather
oMust possess valid driver's license

Education and/or Experience

oHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

oMust have or obtain documented Authorized Climber & Competent Climber/Rescue certification from an accredited institution that meets the federal standards
oMust have or obtain OSHA Construction 10 HR Safety Training Card issued by the US Department of Labor
oMust have or obtain First Aid and CPR certification
oMust have completed an RF/EME safety course from a competent provider with documentation

EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
